Rocky Mountain Pipe Band
The Rocky Mountain Pipe Band has established itself as a musical and competitive leader, having been ranked among Western Canada's best bands.
Formed in 1998 and based in Calgary, Alberta, the RMPB is the area's only competitive Grade 2 band. Comprised of some of the most talented and skilled musicians in the world, current RMPB members have won Provincial, Canadian, North American and even World Championships at the Grade 1 level. The RMPB was recently awarded the title of "Provincial Champions" for 2009 in Grade 2 by the Alberta Society of Piper and Drummers.
The band wears the distinctive Isle of Skye tartan, and is under the leadership of Pipe Major Sean Somers, Pipe Sergeant Andrew Smith, Lead Drummer Ryan Sullivan, and Midsection Co-ordinator Holly Shaw.
